CreditReveals is an educational platform dedicated to helping Indian consumers understand credit reports and resolve errors themselves, without paying expensive agencies. Our goal is to share practical knowledge and empower visitors to make informed decisions.
Information we collect and why
Google authentication
We use Google OAuth for secure, password-free login. When you sign in with Google, we collect and store:
- • Email address — to identify your account uniquely and for support communication
- • Name — displayed on your comments and profile
- • Profile picture — displayed alongside your comments
We never store passwords. Signing in is optional — most educational content is accessible without an account.
Session cookies
We use secure JWT-based session cookies to keep you logged in during your visit. These are strictly necessary authentication cookies and do not track your behaviour across other websites.
Comments
When you post a comment, the content of your comment, your display name, profile picture, and the timestamp are stored in our database and publicly visible to other visitors. We moderate comments to maintain a respectful community.
Inquiries
If you submit an inquiry through the Inquiry page, we collect and store your name, email address, mobile number, credit bureau, problem type, and description. This information is reviewed by our team to provide guidance and is not shared with third parties.
Contact form
Messages submitted via the contact form are forwarded to our support email address. We retain contact submissions for up to one year for customer service purposes and do not use them for marketing.
Rate limiting records
To prevent abuse of our inquiry and comment features, we maintain a per-user request counter that resets every hour. This record contains only a count and timestamp — no personal content.
Email drafting tool — client-side only
Our drafting tool operates entirely within your browser. No information you enter — personal details, account numbers, or drafted content — is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers. Everything stays on your device until you copy and send it yourself.
How we use your information
We use collected information solely to operate and improve the service: managing accounts, enabling comments, responding to inquiries, and preventing abuse. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share information only when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or with service providers who assist in operating the website under strict confidentiality obligations.
Data retention and your rights
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary:
- • Account data — retained until you request deletion
- • Comments — retained to maintain discussion continuity; can be deleted on request
- • Inquiries — retained for the purpose of providing guidance; reviewed periodically
- • Contact form submissions — retained for one year
- • Rate limit records — reset hourly, no long-term retention

Data security
We implement appropriate security measures including SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission, secure Google OAuth authentication, and limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
